so – this is how the story goes. firstly, we’d like to apologize – we have been away from the internet as a general whole for quite a well. the first reason for this was that we did not have access to updating our website for over a year. of course, by the time that we did have that access, we were so back-logged with things to do, and involved very heavily in our current projects and tours, that it took us quite a while to figure everything out. in this process, some of the mail-orders have been very slow, we’ve been poor at responding to emails immediately, and we haven’t released very much in a while, and even when we have – it hasn’t been up on this website for you to know about it. this is not what we ever intended. it has also been a difficult time for many of us – things have changed very largely in many of our personal lives.
we are looking to the future now – something which, admittedly, scares the shit out of us sometimes. 2012 is only four years away. but we’re excited about what is to come, to show any of you who’ve supported us in the past, and wish to stick by us even despite our hiatus / absence, what we’ve been working so diligently on for these past two years since things have seemingly slowed down.
let’s look to 2009. we have a bunch of releases planned – it seems that all of our projects that we work on separately of one another come together around the same time. there will be new full-length records from jordaan mason (now backed up by a band, ‘the horse museum’), sarah d., whatever jailer, and basket of figs – who are all, essentially, the canadian side of our label. shelby sifers is working on new recordings with her band and with tyler tadlock, an experimental electronic artist who we met this summer on tour in mississippi. jordaan and shelby are also going to release a seven inch split in which they each cover one of each other’s songs, to commemorate their tour this past sum

our good friends at sanitary records have just released this awesome tape compilation called “i’m doing ok today,” and it has songs by a few oh! map artists and lots of our very good friends! you should go check it out, i think we might have some for sale here soon, too. also, real live tigers is very soon releasing “yearling,” a collection of older material from a few years ago (this should be out by the end of the month) and shelby sifers’ is releasing her new cd “run around, run around” on may 8th at a cd release show in arcata, ca. more to come! xo!

after a long hiatus due to technical difficulties, the website has returned. we will be adding more & more things in the next few weeks because a lot has happened. there are some new releases and new artists, and lots of things on their way. this new website design was done by alex fischer, and we thank him because it looks gorgeous, or at least i think so. there is some mailorder i need to send out, still, and i apologize for lateness. school will be over in two weeks and my energy can be a lot more focused on doing this thing. browse around the website because a lot has changed and will continue to do so, and i’ll keep you posted.

so basically it’s like this: i have been in constant movement and adjustment for a few months now. i have been lazy with websites and mail order and everything else that i am supposed to be good at. if you ordered something, and haven’t recieved it yet, i thoroughly apologize. i am going through all of the orders now and will hopefully send them out by the end of the week. if not, please feel free to yell at me. also, the new dustin and the furniture album is done and pressed and amazing. waiting for a box of those in the mail. will be on the website shortly, as well as the other few releases that have come out since i stopped updating this thing… it’s true. it’s true. i will do these things. this is going to be so good. there is so much happening right now that i can’t even seem to be able to keep track of it. everyone i love is working on wonderful things. i apologize for being sentimental. actually, no, i don’t. i have half of shelby’s new record on my computer and it might be the best songs i’ve ever heard in my whole life? a drum and an open window have this new ep that’s almost done? the sarcastic dharma society basically wrote the best song he’s ever written? i have this album that i’ve been working on since april and it’s almost done? children eating birds made a new record? it’s done? just gotta do artwork? they’re going to start playing shows together, as a band? port o’brien’s back from alaska?! real live tigers started an awesome label called ‘news from home’ with our dear friends in milkaukee partisan? so much is happening. everything will make sense soon. i’m trying to get everything organized. and i will. i will i will i will.
